About Our Founder

Chop N Chip Tree Fellas was founded by Steve Blower, who ‘branched out’ into tree lopping back in 1982 in Ayr. Originally a contract tree cutter for the Department of Primary Industries, Steve saw the environment in a different light than many of his peers.

While others pushed and burned local habitats, Steve believed in recycling and sustainable practices. His passion led to the creation of Chop N Chip Tree Fellas in 1990, where he introduced mulching as a way to preserve the local ecosystem.

Moving to Townsville in 1992, he pioneered the use of wood chippers in Queensland, transforming green waste into valuable mulch. Now a fully qualified arborist, Steve and his team focus on responsible, eco-friendly tree care, recycling all organic material for use in landscaping.
